2003-07-10 another rainy day. it�s rained pretty much every day this week, i think. i wouldn�t mind so much if it weren�t so. damn. humid. i feel gross and sweaty and sticky every time i go outside. and let�s not even get into the way my hair looks. humidity and my hair aren�t exactly BFFs. last night, winfrey and i got thai food for dinner, then she hung out at my place and spent the night. it was just like last summer. i can�t count how many times we did that last year. in some ways, it�s like she was never gone, but in other ways i have to adjust to her again. we come from very different backgrounds, and sometimes it shows. her parents are wealthy, and it�s such a different world from the middle-class one i grew up in. also, she is, as my boy says, a tornado. conversation goes a mile a minute and in fifteen different directions. she�s a lot of fun, though, and gives good advice. i loved hearing about her time in africa. it sounds as if she had a great experience, despite having bugs in her food and getting parasites. this morning, i got an email telling me that my university computer account was reactivated. yay! i was vague when they wondered why i wanted it reactivated when i don�t work there any more. i couldn�t exactly say it was for the free internet. *** quotes of the day: �i�d like to see cats on a pirate ship, but it�s not going to happen.� -my boy �i forgot how to wipe my ass.� -winfrey, on her return from toilet paper-less africa |
