the following is a part of a conversation about winter outerwear that my boy and i had last night. i thought it was humorous, though you will probably not. i'm not sure what it says about us, except that i'm a sarcastic bitch. but you knew that already.

[pepi8] boots, touques...
[glitterbomb] touques?
[pepi8] uh, winter hats
[pepi8] i don't know what else to call them
[glitterbomb] i've never heard that word before
[glitterbomb] are they those tossle cap things?
[pepi8] really?
[pepi8] the ones with a pom pom on the top
[glitterbomb] yeah, a tossle cap
[pepi8] tossle cap?
[glitterbomb] i may not be spelling it right, but that's how you say it

[glitterbomb] tossle caps are the knit ones with a pom pom
[glitterbomb] um...touque??????????????
[glitterbomb] is that french or what?

[pepi8] it's probably french for tossle cap
[glitterbomb] shut up

it was later determined that toque is french for "fur cap" and is also the word for a knit winter hat. the origin and correct spelling of tossle cap are as yet unknown. but i swear i am not making it up.
