2002-12-13 it is friday the 13th, and it is also my sister's birthday. coincidence? tonight, i took my sister out for dinner, and then we went shopping. i got sister-overload. she had to stop at every makeup/perfume/lotion/food sample counter. by the time we left the mall, she had her nails painted, glittery powder on her skin, and the scent of something like five different perfumes and three different lotions on her. she also stole candy from the candy store and probably something from target, though i couldn't tell what. i saw something blue and shiny in her coat pocket, so i casually asked her what it was. she totally evaded the question, then made sure her arm was covering or her hand was in her coat pocket the rest of the night. that part was funny, but i told her if she ever gets caught while she is with me, i'm leaving her there. we spent some time gazing lustfully at the cute baby stuff in target. i think i am going through another stage of baby lust. the last one was when i was teaching prenatal classes. not that i seriously want a baby at this point in my life; i can't even take care of myself. i think i just want to buy cute things for it and all of that fun stuff. i don't want to change nasty diapers or be woken up a million times in the night by crying. still, i've always wanted to be a mom, and i know i'll be extremely happy when that happens at the right time. ack...i have to be up in six hours. schizophrenia conference today, darlings. i know you all are jealous. *** quote of the day: "i have three really funny things to tell you. actually, one isn't that funny at all." -amy b |
