gah. i can't believe how early i was up today. my next door neighbor's plumbing was making that horrible high-pitched squealing noise that plumbing is wont to make. normally, one adjusts the damn faucet so it stops. not so this time. it kept squealing and squealing. i wanted to throw something at the wall, but that would require more coordination than i usually have in the morning.

oh well. i have a lot to do today anyway.

did i hear someone ask for the friday five? no? here it is anyway. enjoy, my little radishes.

When was the last time you...

1. ...sent a handwritten letter?
last week, to my friend christine

2. ...baked something from scratch or made something by hand?
it's been way too hot to bake, so it's been a while, but i've been cooking a lot lately. (a lot=more than usual)

3. ...camped in a tent?
in the early 90s sometime, with my sister and the boys next door. it was in my backyard, and i hope that will be my only camping experience. i happen to enjoy the fruits of modern living, such as toilets and electricity.

4. ...volunteered your time to church, school, or community?
AIDS walks last year and the year before, and i was a VISTA volunteer from 98-99. that was a whole year of my life, so i figure i have lots of time banked.

5. ...helped a stranger?
all the time. i always offer to help if i see soemone struggling or looking confused. and the blind people at the bus stop love to talk to me for some reason. (contrary to what many people, including my friends, think. i am actually a very nice person. scary, huh?)
