2002-05-15 today was a nice day. my boss and her boss took me out for lunch. we went someplace i've never been but always wanted to go. it was quite yummy, but i don't recommend cranberry ginger ale. it's too weird. after lunch, i had the monumentous task of upacking the fifty boxes of files that i packed up before my vacation. i had been hoping that they would get upacked while i was away, but i should have known better. it wasn't too bad, though, and i made the new work study boy do all the hard stuff, like arranging the boxes in numerical order. charlene and i tried to tell him that he had to build shelves for the extra files, and he almost believed us, except charlene laughed at the last minute. it is something like national hospital week, so they were giving out free ice cream in the building where i was (the psych institute). i am all for free ice cream sundaes. *** i am having a good self-esteem day, so here are some reasons why i rock: i can...replicate DNA, say "thank you" in nine different languages, make rockin' apple bread, sew pretty well, and read tarot cards. i am...well-read, spiritual and comfortable with it, imaginative, a feminist, and a trivia goddess. i have...wonderful friends, a job i like, a dimple when i smile, an excellent and eclectic music collection, and a cat who snores. i say that everyone should make a list like this one. you'll feel rockin' too! *** quote of the day: "i'm a scientist." -my boss, after unsuccessfully attempting to figure out the lunch bill *** np: the cure "high" |
