2002-02-18 ah, presidents' day...the day that everyone in america has off except for the university of pittsburgh. apparently, having two mondays off a semester is a bad thing, so we just get MLK day off. to compensate, we get a wonderfully made-up holiday, "great americans day," on a friday later in the semester. it's not a fabulously productive day in the cubbyhole that is my office. my boss and i went to a lecture this morning. it was about changing health behavior and was actually pretty interesting (but then, i'm a public health nerd). my boss bought me lunch 'cause i went. i can always be bribed. this afternoon, i have to go to yet another database design class. i definitely could use a bribe for that one. this weekend didn't exactly happen as planned, but it was still a good one. i indulged my urge for new shoes and got two cute pairs. i don't often buy new shoes, but when i get in the mood, look out. i am quite quite picky about them. (witness the great new balanace sneaker fiasco of 2000. i was searching for a pair of sneakers. i went to three malls looking for said sneakers. at the last mall, i emphatically stated, "i am not leaving this mall until i get a pair of shoes." pms was a great contributing factor in this fiasco; however, i did get sneakers that i still love.) *** quote of the day: ***
*Take The Wacky Racers Test!* These little frogs are grass-green colored, usually with a creamy colored line running from the jaw along the flanks. Males make a really loud noise thats a bit like quacking, which is sometimes known as a "rain call" because they tend to make a lot of noise before rains, but which can also be stimulated by external noises. They eat an assortment of bugs including crickets, moths, and flies. |
