5:05 p.m.

i was supposed to go to a womans house this afternoon to interview her, but she wasnt home when i showed up at the appointed time. i wasnt surprised. it was very difficult to even get her on the phone in the first place, and i tried all morning to talk to her so i could confirm our appointment. i usually dont mind so much when i get stood up for an interview. yeah, its a little annoying to have to pay for parking (around $7.50, so its not cheap) at work, then drive out to someones house only to have no one answer the door when you knock. but, having no interview gives me some extra time for myself, and it happens so much in our study that were used to it.

so i headed over to the mall and shopped for a dress to wear to the boys sisters wedding next month. id made a few small attempts to find a dress before, but i had no luck. i guess only going to one or two stores doesnt exactly increase ones chances. today, i browsed the dresses in a certain department store that is infamous for calling me incessantly a month or two back. i tried on a couple of cute sheath dresses, but they werent flattering in the way that i want them to be. i dont know why i keep trying sheath dresses. i mean, i love the style, but although i kind of have an hourglass shape, i am a little bigger on the top than the bottom. a dress that fits on the bottom is too tight on top, and if i dont want to, um, display my assets quite so prominently on top, i have to get something that is too big on the bottom. one of the dresses was really cute; it was a spring-y green with daisies embroidered on it.

i found a dress even better than that on the sale rack, though. its sort of like a sheath, but ever so slightly less fitted. the bottom has more of an a-line shape. its silk and my favorite colora smoky sky blue. it even comes with a long jacket made of the same material. i loved it the second i saw it, and i loved it even more when i tried it on. needless to say, i took it home with me. oh, and the best part is that it was originally $143, but i got it for $47. whee! i got some silver strappy heels to wear with it.

look at me being such a girl. i promise thats all the girliness for a while.
