continuing the theme of outerwear poetry...

molly's mittens

from EMS in buffalo
and on to pittsburgh, there they go:
snowflake mittens in fleece of gray,
destined to be lost one day.

off to work, our heroine molly
climbs aboard the PAT bus trolley.
all aboard the 71A;
red-haired driver pulls away.

mittens off, there they rest
as the bus moves slowly west.
when molly heads out of the door,
her mittens slip unnoticed to the floor.

though scarf and hat remain in set,
they and molly will never forget
snowflake mittens in fleece of gray,
lost forever that fateful day.
