11:39 a.m.

last night, amy e and i went to claire and jeff's to play board games. we rejected two games that looked too complicated (phases? cards filled with little symbols? reading instructions? forget it.) in favor of monopoly. not just any monopoly. the european edition of monopoly. it was highly entertaining because it was in french, and the pieces weren't the usual shoe-scottie dog-iron pieces but famous european buildings, such as the eiffel tower and the leaning tower of pisa. i was a windmill (representin' the NL, yo). deals were made, fortunes gained and lost, and amy e basically kicked everyone's butt. it was a lot of fun.

i have to add that jeff and claire have the weirdest cats ever. any cat that can be taught to roll over for a reward of being dragged on the carpet by the scruff of the neck is...weird. but cute.

i had a few errands to run at the mall yesterday, and i thought i would be safe by going relatively early. was i wrong. holiday shopping is in effect already. damn. i thought i at least had a week or two before avoiding retail establishments. holiday shoppers irk me like no other. i can only thank my diety of choice that i no longer work in retail.

my cat stepped all over my laptop yesterday in seach of attention. somehow, she managed to mess up all my taskbar thingies, and i can't put them back the way they were. help.
