2002-10-22 fortune comes in many forms. one of these forms is getting a bus seat that is next to the heat vent two days in a row. fortune, however, seldom comes without a price. yesterday, i had warm legs, but i was subjected to a conversation between two CMU nerds discussing the robots they were building. eight AM is much too early to listen to a discussion of wireless remotes and continuous welding. today, it was two undergrads quoting old episodes of pinky and the brain. loudly. they were also saying things like, "my brain is not caffeinated enough to function" and "people can't comprehend that there are physics classes beyond physics one and two...i get a kick out of telling them that i'm taking physics twelve." sometimes, i just want to shriek, "shut up, shut up, shut up!" i'm a real ray of sunshine in the morning. *** quote of the day: bus guy 1: one hundred pounds of paper equals one tree. |
