2002-10-02 i forgot to mention that, in honor of it being october, amy e and i will be listening to the pet shop boys' "october symphony" a great number of times. you should, too. we have a lovely and possibly annoying habit of listening to certain songs very loudly in the car. and yes, we do sing along to them. these songs include, but are not limted to, george michael's "freedom" and depeche mode's "strangelove." it's fun to subject other drivers to one's questionable musical taste. and speaking of singing, i was seraneded by "happy birthday" at dinner last night. i have never had this happen to me in a restaurant before. in fact, i always threatened my dining companions with death if they ever had the restaurant staff come out and start singing to me. well...it wasn't too bad last night. it was a small restaurant, and they didn't do a stupid variation on the song as they tend to do at chain restaurants. and i got some yummy fried ice cream. that's worth most humiliations. *** np: the shins "caring is creepy" |
