2002-09-24 so. i'm back from canadaland. i'm exhausted, but in a good way. the boy (who really does have a name, honest) and i drove up north to stay at a cottage with his friend and his girlfriend. it was so beautiful up there. it really seemed like fall...the leaves changed more and more every day. there were walks in the woods, marshmallow roasting (and burning), many attempts to get the boat started, and lots of other fun, nature-y activities. i got the city air purged from my lungs. we were near the exciting hamlet of wilberforce. yes, wilberforce. mullets, trucks, and dirty wifebeaters. the town was hosting a "beef and beer bash" saturday night. we opted to pass on the festivities, but we still got to hear the musical entertainment, thanks to the great way the sound carried over the lake. it was quite funny. i stole a flyer for it from the grocery store. it now graces my refrigerator. in the alcohol store, the lady gave me a big sign that said "party zone" in english and french. i left it at the cottage because really, do i need that in my house? i'm still somewhat incoherent from lack of sleep. i'm beginning to think that i'll always be this way. *** quotes of the day: "look at the way the sky is glowing. it looks like a freak show. or the planetarium." -bill, who was under the influence of drugs "babies are not supposed to smell like patchouli." -amy b |
