2002-08-14 it was a very interesting morning at the bus stop. there was a strange substance down the middle of the length of the road. it looked oily and was causing cars to skid. a man driving the fire department's SUV was "testing" the road by driving fast and stopping hard at intersections. he had the lights on, of course. it was official business! just after that, the police van arrived on the scene. the cop drove around the intersection by the bus stop. first, he was on one side of the road for a minute, then he'd back up onto another street and repeat the process, watching cars driving past. i suppose that he determined the road a "hazard" because he got on the radio, and soon a fire truck appeared on the scene. lights flashing, they blocked the street to sprinkle it with none other than kitty litter. my tax dollars at work. meanwhile, we were still waiting for the bus. when it was fifteen minutes late, i decided just to get my car and drive. i offered a ride to a woman who works down the street from me. it was nice to chat with her on the way to work. i discovered that she sews and crafts, which earns her ten cool points. i have to see a new shrink on friday. i am not looking forward to going through that whole process again, but i am hoping that i will like him better than my last one. being optimistic about it is helping me, at least. *** naughty quote of the day: "i'd spend an hour in rush hour to have my legs in the air for two days." -amy b *** np: bikini kill "reject all american" |
