2002-03-14 sometimes, i think i have the coolest job. i get to go to the craft store and the grocery store on research trips. i'm in the midst of developing a treatment manual for overweight people with schizophrenia. i'm going to do some ethnography at the grocery store to see what foods people from that sort of demographic are buying and to take a look at some nutrition labels. perhaps i'll go in spy mode-- dark sunglasses, camera hidden in a paperback, microphone concealed in my coat. just call me agent MPH. (for those of you not as nerdy as i, MPH stands for master of public health and is the degree i'm working on in school.) the craft store is so i can try to find supplies to make our own tear-off page food diaries. combining crafts with work--who thought that work could be so amusing? the weather is absolutely lovely out today, and i have an interview this afternoon, which means i get to leave early. i'm not coming back, either. the siren call of my rollerblades is too strong to ignore. life is pretty good sometimes, and that's not just the pharmaceuticals talking. *** this is turning into the great quiz diary...
