2002-02-21 molly and andrew hosted a great farewell party for andreas last night. the newly phd'd andreas is moving to manhattan tomorrow. by some strange coincidence, he's working in a town near peekskill, where i used to live. the party was fun; i got to see people i hadn't seen in a while, and i met andreas' new lady friend, whom i liked but feel guilty for liking because of the amy b situation. i can't go into more detail about that here because certain other german boys discovered my diary when they googled for "translation of moppelchen." this certain german boy need not know more about this situation so that they can tell their german compatriots. if that last part doesn't make any sense to you, don't worry. you probably weren't meant to understand it. oh yeah, i'm braindead today for sure. i've got an interview to do this afternoon, and i hope i'm coherent by then. i'm just glad i remembered to bring caffeinated tea into work. what a difference it makes. i hope i have a little time at home today in between the interview and yoga class. i've hardly been home all week, and i don't see me being there much until sunday. you can always tell what kind of week it's been by the amount and type of clutter in my apartment. by friday, there's usually clothes strewn all over the bedroom, cd's piled everywhere, mail all over the kitchen table, journal articles stacked on the coffee table, and shoes piled near the door. my cat does her part by leaving all her toy mice in the living room. it's not that i'm a messy person...it's just that sometimes, at the end of the day, it's just easier to fling a skirt on the computer table than to put it in the clothes basket two steps away. *** would you be disappointed if i didn't have a quiz today?
