2002-02-08 nothing like coming into work late and running into your boss as you're doing so. i casually mentioned that i overslept, which isn't exactly a lie. i did oversleep; i just did it on purpose. she doesn't care, though. she was late, too. i have a lot of respect and admiration for blind people (and, no, i'm not being sarcastic here). i would be scared as hell to get around by myself if i couldn't see anything. yesterday, i was waiting at the bus stop, and a blind man stopped when his cane his my shoes. now, i sure as hell would have no idea that a person was standing there just from that, but he knew. we chatted for a bit, and i told him which buses were coming. if i were to go blind (which, who knows, could be a possibility because my eyesight is horrible sans glasses), i don't know if i'd have the courage to leave my house. *** quick time-wasters (see a theme here lately?) this one has a "word of the day" in different languages *** quotes of the day: "good thing you don't have teeth in your uterus." -molly "i think i'm deranged." -amy e *** ps: anyone know where the title of this entry comes from? if you guessed that it's the title of an inspiral carpets song, you win a prize. i've been in a strange musical phase lately. |
