2002-01-03 well. i am currently in that back-to-work-after-being-gone-a really-long-time daze. you know, the one where you kind of wander into work and just kind of stare because you're not sure what you're supposed to be doing? the one where you spend half the day going though an acumulation of mostly useless emails? i think that's the daze i'm currently in. of course, it could be the result of the flu i'm currently getting over. i left amy b's new year's party feeling queasy. (i know what you're thinking, and it was not alcohol-related.) since i rarely throw up, i wasn't worried. well, lo and behold, i woke up at 4 in the morning and proved myself wrong. nothing like ringing in the new year with puke. the rest of my vaction was better. well, xmas was iffy. i think i would have rather stayed in bed, achy, feverish, and nauseous than to have spent a hellish afternoon at my dad's. when i wasn't dreading, suffering through, or recovering from my dad's, i was reading lots of good books, trekking to ikea, and even--gasp!--cooking. i got to see aly and thar, which was lovely, and drove to altoona one day to see kevin. it's definitely hard to be back at work. *** quote-a-rama!
